Wow! Where do I begin? Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the US and has so much to offer. Depending on your interests, we have recommendations for everyone.

For starters, my favorite spots for family brunches are La Colombe d’Or or Toulouse before getting our shopping fix in the River Oaks district. Always sit on a patio, and always have a glass of their finest Chardonnay in hand!

My ideal afternoon would be to spend the day in the Houston Museum district where art and architecture is both visualized and experienced. The Menil, Rothko Chapel and the Contemporary Arts Museum are just a few staples to visit.

A casual night at one of my favorite restaurants, Uptown Sushi, is much needed. You definitely have to try the L&J Loya Special – it’s the best! (but I’m just a bit biased).

Not a sushi fan? No problem – Pico’s for authentic Mexican food and Good Company BBQ are other must-try Houston cuisines. They both have great staff and great atmospheres and the best part of all is you are in walking distance to GREAT shopping spots.

If you love live music as much as I do, enjoy a live band (on Friday’s and Saturday’s) and incredible views at The Oak Room, located inside the luxurious Post Oak Hotel.

Houston has a lot to offer not only in great restaurants and culture, but also in recreational activities! Houston’s Memorial Park is evolving quickly as one of the largest urban parks in the US, giving Central Park a run for its money. Whether you love to run, golf, or picnic – this park caters to all.

Here in February or March? Attend the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and party with Veneno Tequila at their VIP tent! You’ll definitely get your Texas fix with performances from top country and pop artists, show-stopping BBQ from chefs all over the US, and family-friendly activities that last all month long.

After all, you can’t go wrong in this city. Between restaurants and bars, parks and trails, museums and attractions and a diverse culture like no other – Houston has been one of the best places for my family and I to dwell over the years. Leave a comment below what you find.. Happy exploring!
