For a successful Houston tech executive and a jewelry designer, plus their three children, we anchored every room in black and white—with a curtain, a trim, or a tile pattern—and then layered on patterns and rich hues that remain warm and dense without overpowering any space. Everything that went in has something of interest, like the irregular shape of the rug in the living room or the decoupage lamps by Houston artist Liz Marsh.
